Built New Casey House Hospital Garden

I spent the day installing a new garden at Casey House Hospital with others. The south-facing garden is located outside the new Patient Intake area and Visitor Reception to improve the view (of a parking lot) and provide a comforting and relaxed experience.

A big thank you to my co-designer of the garden, Liz Esson, and the crew who helped do the digging and planting: Mark Garber, Lailla Chegenie, Mark Trask, and Vaughn Miller. As well, a huge thank you to Cynthia Ferguson of Cynthia Ferguson Design who rallied the design community to supply the planting material!

Plants used include cedars, Karl Foerster grass, blue iris, purple echinacea, aquiligeas, blue salvia, and geranium Rozanne. We will plant out bulbs in the fall for early colour next spring. As with any new garden, once the plants have settled in and filled out, it will be spectacular!
